To the Cowichan School of Motoring! The Committee for the 5th Annual Ladysmith Show and Shine wish to express gratitude and thanks to all of the businesses who generously sponsored and/or donated to this year's show. Without your greatly appreciated contributions, our show would not have been such an enormous success. Thanks to you, we were able to make a donation to the Ladysmith Food Bank in the amount of $500.00. The participation of all involved helped to bring our community together in support of another fun and equitable event and we look forward to working with you again next year. Our sincere thanks, Ladysmith Show and Shine. Aug. 23, 2008 Hello Roy, On behalf of Nanaimo Youth Employment Centre I'd like to thank you for participating in our workshop "Careers in the Trades". As we are a non-profit organization we rely on the community for support and value the time community members such as your self donate to our organization. We had a variety of speakers who are involved in various trades, representing training facilities, small and large businesses and independent sub-contractors. The participants came out to the workshop with a better understanding of how to enter into the trades' field, as well as the the right attitude to get started and the training necessary for work in this field. The clients were very appreciative of your time and topic, and enjoyed hearing about life as a trucker. I think your discussion was very motivating for the clients and helped them think of more options as to how they can generate employment. I also received a lot of information from your presentation, knowledge that I will share with other NYSA clients. I hope you enjoyed yourself as well and would be willing to participate in future workshops. Sincerely, Debby Evans Nanaimo Youth Services Association. Hi Roy, Thanks for the great class instruction, I really enjoyed the course and I sure did learn alot about Air Brakes. I studied for about 3 hours yesterday morning and then did my ICBC written test for my Air Brake Endorsement. I got 100%. Thanks Albert Brunelle (Duncan) June 10th, 08 Hi Shirley, Just a note to say Thank You for setting us up with Doug. He is a great instructor and has realy boosted my confidence in backing up our 5th wheel. I know it won't be perfect but I believe I can at least put it pretty much where I want it. His instruction also gave Jim a clear picture of what he needed to do to guide me so it was a win win situation. It was his admission that the parking space we have is very difficult that made me feel better about my earlier struggles. Carole (Nanaimo) May 15th, 08 Shirley thank you for sharing the most precious of gifts knowledge and time. Elder College (Duncan) Feb. 21st. 08 FOCUS ON CAREERS SEMINAR:Shirley, thank you for agreeing to participate in the "Focus on Careers Seminar" in Port Alberni. The driving experience was perfect for a hands on person like myself. There was a good balance of discussion and group work. Good stuff!" Noel 18Hr Defensive Driving Theory (Duncan): "I wanted to mention that Franklin got a lot out of the 18 hour defensive theory course he took in July (he is much more aware on the road and is remembering rules etc.that he learned in the course) and he really liked the instructor. I really appreciate as well that he was able to be in a small class. Thanks so much for offering this course in Duncan!" Nadine Seniors Talk (Duncan): "Thank you Shirley, keep up the good work" - Elder College 140 Hr Commercial Transport Course(Victoria): "I have to say I had an excellent time and would have to give your course and A++ rating. " Katie GLP (Duncan): "Katie's instructors were awesome. She is a great driver and I know I couldn't have taught her all the rules. We are very confident with her driving, she is too." Katie's Mom GLP Course (Duncan): "I learnt so much I didn't know before, the most interesting part were the driving lessons; I learned everything I needed to know."
